Angles and Shots!

(Left Image) Over the Shoulder shot: This shot lets the audience see an interaction between characters and be included in the conversation.
(Right Image) Point of View Shot: This shot gives the audience a view from the characters perspective and makes it seem as if they are watching from their eyes.
(Left Image) Close up Shot: This shot is meant to usually capture emotion and brings the image close up to the screen because it is usually important.

(Right Image) Dutch/ Canted Angle: The canted angle is conveyed by angling the camera at a tilt to show uneasiness and disorientation.

(Left Image) Extreme Close up Shot: This shot tightly frames a detail or object to resemble its importance.

(Right Image) Low Angle Shot: This shot is taken from a lower angle and shows dominance from the object higher above that usually is the villain to make them look frightening.

(Left Image) High Angle Shot: This shot is taken from a high angle to show vulnerability and makes the subject look powerless.
Bird's Eye View: This is a shot that is taken from an extremely high point in the sky looking down onto the land or characters to project the power over the subjects below.

(Left Image) Two Shot: This shot features two characters and shows how they interact with each other and lets them see what their body language is to understand the interaction between them.
(Right Image) Long Shot: This shot is usually to show the character versus their environment and the relationship between them.

Mid Shot: This shot represents the character and its environment with an even distribution between them.

This collage was an assignment by my teacher to show images we have taken or took for this assignment to portray different angles or different shots. I had most of these images in my camera roll prior to this assignment but some of them I had to take for this. I had to plan out how I wanted to capture those shots and I needed to use my family to help me depict these images. I personally thought this was more difficult then it seems because for some of these images you need the perfect distance or angle and it was hard when I was also trying to choose pictures to show those shots.

Project Progression Week 3

This week we began the process of camerawork. We planned out when and where we were going to shoot our pictures for the magazine. We decided to take the soccer images at a tournament, the volleyball pictures at a practice, and the softball pictures at a recreational game. We decided that we are going to start taking pictures this week and next week. For this week, we took pictures of soccer and our travel advertisement and left volleyball and softball for next week.
