For the final project, I am working with Adriana Nolen and we chose to do the magazine. The genre we decided on for the magazine is sports.

Henry Luce, the creator of  Time Magazine, also founded Sports Illustrated, a monthly sports magazine, in 1954. It is the top sports publication in the country. Luce founded Sports Illustrated in an effort to expand the range of magazines that Time Inc. controlled. Henry Luce had little interest in sports. However, he thought that something was missing from the American media scene in the early 1950s: a sports-focused Time-style magazine. The media magnate succeeded in his efforts over the objections of numerous advisors who viewed sports as an insignificant subject and attempted to discourage him from it. The weekly magazine's debut edition was published on August 16, 1954. The ESPN magazine is known throughout the word and has over 106 million readers. The target audience of this magazine is young men who are dedicated to sports. This magazine is summarized to along with celebrating sports, they also honor the cultures and ways of life that are fundamental to them, all highlighted by ESPN's distinct character and authority. The magazines produced by ESPN range from a variety of sports including the professional and college leagues.                                                   Sports Illustrated magazine's target audience is young, successful men with an average of 3 million readers.
